Our Story

We are the dynamic mother/daughter team, Dianna and Jill! Our first business venture, the Mason Jar Plant Shop was established in 2020 and is flourishing in Downtown Kalamazoo. When Dianna’s mom passed she left each of her children a small inheritance with the caveat that they use it for something meaningful. For the full story on that, check out our Mason Jar page, but we just know my mom, Jean, would be so amazingly proud of us and our businesses!

Now onto Shady Lady! When Sandy (the OG Shady Lady) decided to retire, the decision to step into her business was a no-brainer. The two complement each other perfectly.

We are committed to carrying on Sandy’s impeccable work and providing our community with beautiful, plant-filled offices and atriums. Shady Lady Plant Interiors offers full-service maintenance to our accounts including, design, watering, pruning, and pest and disease control. You get to enjoy the benefits of our beautiful plants without the worry of caring for them.

We also offer rental services. Whether you need a full room of foliage or just a few staged plants we can help.
